How to Submit an Ad

  • SFS members, academic institutions, and non-profit organizations can freely post advertisements for position openings, meetings, publications, workshop and courses, or general interest messages.
  • For-profit companies are allowed to post freely, but a $35 donation to one of the SFS endowments funds is suggested.
  • Advertisements and messages should be emailed to the SFS Classifieds editor (classifieds@freshwater-science.org). If judged acceptable, they will be posted promptly (generally within 48 hours).

We are seeking a motivated student to pursue a Ph.D. at University of Missouri. The successful applicant will be expected to take on a research project focused on stream biogeochemistry within the context of a larger, collaborative, multi-investigator project focused on the transfer of matter and energy across terrestrial-aquatic interfaces. Preference will be given to candidates with a background in biogeochemistry, ecosystem ecology, hydrological or nutrient transport modeling, chemistry, environmental science, or limnology.

Augsburg University invites applications for a Field Instructor faculty position to assist in developing and implementing river-based curriculum and programs as part of the River Semester as a joint project of Augsburg University and Wilderness Inquiry.  The person in this position will work in collaboration with the Program Director and Augsburg’s Center for Global Education and Experience (CGEE); develop curriculum in outdoor leadership, environmental studies, and stream ecology; travel with the expedition down the Mississippi River from August 20 through early December.
