How to Submit an Ad

  • SFS members, academic institutions, and non-profit organizations can freely post advertisements for position openings, meetings, publications, workshop and courses, or general interest messages.
  • For-profit companies are allowed to post freely, but a $35 donation to one of the SFS endowments funds is suggested.
  • Advertisements and messages should be emailed to the SFS Classifieds editor (classifieds@freshwater-science.org). If judged acceptable, they will be posted promptly (generally within 48 hours).

The Marcarelli Aquatic Ecosystem Ecology Lab is searching for a motivated student in Ecology, Biology, or Environmental Science for a NSF Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) position. The student will work closely with Dr. Marcarelli and her graduate students to study the balance between nitrogen fixation and denitrification in streams and rivers.  The REU student will design a research project, conduct field work, analyze samples and data, and synthesize findings related to the core questions of this project:

Job description: The Wyoming Natural Diversity Database (WYNDD) at the University of Wyoming is hiring a technician to assist with surveys for native mussels in Wyoming. Surveys will primarily occur in the eastern drainages of Wyoming. The crew is based in Laramie, but we will travel to and camp (tents and/or camper) at field sites. Technicians will survey for mussels using several techniques (snorkeling, viewing tubes and tactile searches).
