Description: The Division Finance Manager provides supervision, oversight, and guidance for the Division of Ecological Restoration’s (DER’s) fiscal activities within the Department of Fish and Game (DFG), including operational, capital, and grant budgeting and management; procurement; DER’s Priority Project Program; and overall management and supervision of the Division’s fiscal team. The Finance Manager, under the fiscal oversight of the CFO for the DFG, reports to the DER Assistant Director and works in close collaboration with the DER Director, DER Deputy Director, and DER Assistant Director to align DER’s financial activities to support its mission, programs, and activities and to comply with state requirements and Department priorities. The complexity and interdisciplinary nature of DER’s work requires strong fiscal management, and the Finance Manager brings this organizational leadership to the Division team. DER staff typically coordinates over 50 active, on-the-ground restoration projects and other activities in partnership with many public and private organizations. With an annual budget of over $10 million, DER executes over 150 engineering, technical, and grant contracts each year involving complex environmental, technical, regulatory, policy, and public safety challenges. The Finance Manager works in tandem with the DFG Finance Office and oversees the fiscal systems and processes that support this work.
