SUMMARY
This is a full-time, exempt professional position responsible for performing routine assignments requiring the application ofstandard techniques, procedures, and criteria in completing tasks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Proficient and experienced in marine macroinvertebrate taxonomy identification and processing in a production oriented laboratory.
- Organizes and performs data analysis using Excel, Minitab, or R statistical software.
- Experienced in aquatic laboratory management (e.g., inventory, taxonomic voucher collections, chemical monitoring, process scheduling, etc.)
- Drafts documents, or portion of documents, for projects and proposals.
- Researches and maintains marketing contacts. Generates work equivalent to own direct and indirect salary and salary ofsupporting technicians.
- Serves as marketing Project Manager in preparing proposals with budgets of less than $10,000. Develops and implementsproject plans and schedules; reviews project accounts; assigns, oversees, and evaluates project staff; and communicates with clients. Creates budgets, designs scopes of work, and conducts presentations.
- Trains, coordinates, and reviews fieldwork of technicians.
- Interacts directly with clients and prospective clients; places strong emphasis on marketing Water & Air’s services,including cross selling all lines of business.
- Performs site inspections.
- Gathers data, maps, and aerial photographs, in support of site investigations.
- Schedules and coordinates fieldwork and supervises sampling with necessary, appropriate precautions for quality control to ensure collections of representative samples.
- Evaluates data associated with various projects for use in defining extent of contamination and makes recommendationsfor developing feasibility studies for possible remediation.
- Exercises dependability and demonstrates reliable attendance.
- Ability to interact professionally, as a collaborator, in an office environment.
- Must possess flexibility and versatility in order to contribute to evolving work situations.
- Ability to manage confidential proprietary information.
- Other duties may be assigned to meet the needs of the business.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Biology or related science field and 3-5 years of related experience. Personal cell phone withactive contract and valid driver’s license are also required. Strongly Preferred: SCUBA diving certified. FDEP SCI and HA certified. Authorized FWC gopher tortoise agent. Wetland delineation experience. Basic GIS knowledge.
