Oregon– Aquatic Ecologist I needed to serve as a project manager for a riparian buffer manipulation study on private forest lands. Duties include working closely with primary investigators to facilitate site selection and implement study designs, managing project data in a database, and orchestrating successful data collection efforts as a seasonal crew lead. Applicants should be comfortable navigating in remote backcountry settings and be able to work as a team member under difficult field conditions. Position extends from June 2022 through March 2023 with opportunity for extension up to 3 years. Duties include backpack electrofishing, collection of macroinvertebrate and periphyton samples, habitat surveys, and working closely with primary investigators. Experience with ecology field work and interest in aquatic ecology is desired. Applicants should be comfortable navigating in remote backcountry settings and be able to work as a team member under difficult field conditions. Overnight camping is expected. Position extends from June through September 2022.
