United States Environmental Protection Agency’s Pacific Ecological Systems Division in Corvallis, Oregon, has a new post graduate position available through the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE). Post-masters with a strong research background and post-doctorates are preferred. This effort will explore research questions using national plant datasets collected as part of the National Wetland Condition Assessment (NWCA), which is the nation’s largest and most comprehensive survey of wetland condition and characteristics across the conterminous US.

The Department of Liberal Arts at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) invites applications for tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in the biological sciences, beginning in August of 2025. Salary is competitive with peer institutions and commensurate with quality of academic research, extent of teaching experience, other relevant professional practices and current professional standing.

The graduate assistant will work on the Northeastern RSGCN stonefly assessment project and conduct MS thesis research with the Lake Champlain Research Institute at the State University of New York at Plattsburgh. This position covers a stipend for academic year and summer plus in state NY tuition waiver. The research will focus on the stonefly systematics and conservation in the Northeastern US. Duties for this position will include some field work, sorting, data entry, identification and preparation of specimens for morphological and/or genetic study.

A postdoctoral research associate position is available in aquatic ecology. This position is part of University of Wyoming NSF EPSCoR grant titled “WyACT: Wyoming Anticipating Climate Transitions”. The successful applicant will use ecological and physical models to predict responses to climate change induced reductions in water availability. The postdoc will work to advance our understanding of how climate change affects aquatic ecosystems. The postdoc will develop their own research activities related to lake modeling, food webs, or flow-ecology relationships in the Upper Snake River, Green River, or Wind River watersheds, Wyoming.
