President's Environment
The President's Environment is a message from the current SFS president that is published 3x/year.
Find Your Freshwater Niche
Much like freshwaters, the Society for Freshwater Science (SFS) is a diverse ecosystem with many niches. However, the SFS ecosystem is comprised of numerous leadership and service opportunities for members across all stages of education and career in more than twenty committees and chapters.
Students
Students are an important part of SFS and they are encouraged to attend, present at annual meetings, and to become active in the Student Resources Committee. SFS has several programs that help to fund research and travel to annual meetings.
Diversity & Inclusivity
The Society for Freshwater Science is dedicated to promoting diversity among its members and welcomes and encourages participation from all, regardless of ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, socioeconomic status, physical or mental difference, religion, age, or national origin.
Early Career
The Early Career Committee (ECC) represents and supports early career scientists within the Society for Freshwater Science (SFS), defined as SFS members within 10 years of receiving their terminal degree.
SFS Chapters
SFS has established regional North American and international chapters of the society. This is an initiative to occur in parts of the World where the society can grow in membership and to also help groups of interested freshwater scientists in more regional and local pursuits of networking and to focus on common research/applied issues.
