Description: We seek a MS or PhD level graduate student interested in nitrogen cycling in managed wetland habitats to begin in Spring of 2023. The position is part of a larger multi-disciplinary project examining how novel water management practices of fallow agricultural fields enhance migratory shorebird habitat while providing other ecosystem services including excess nitrogen removal and reduced sediment runoff from agricultural fields.

Overview:
Oak Ridge National Laboratory is the largest US Department of Energy science and energy laboratory, conducting basic and applied research to deliver transformative solutions to compelling problems in energy and security.
We have an opening for a student to undertake doctoral research investigating controls on the demography of non-migratory galaxiid fishes. The PhD position is part of the ‘predicting future freshwater fish outcomes’ theme of Fish Futures, a research programme driving change towards holistic and just freshwater fish management in Aotearoa.
A four-year NSF-funded Ph.D. Research Assistantship is available in the Urban Ecosystem Ecology Lab at the University of Florida. This position will study nutrient and energy dynamics of residential stormwater ponds throughout Florida. The student will be advised by Dr. A.J. Reisinger in the Department of Soil, Water, and Ecosystem Sciences at the University of Florida located in Gainesville, FL.
Dr. Allison Veach at the University of Texas at San Antonio is seeking a postdoctoral scholar to work on a collaborative project investigating carbon flow within intermittent rivers. The project is funded by the Department of Energy and includes collaboration with scientists at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. Drs. Brian Laub and Harshad Kulkarni at UTSA will also co-mentor the scholar.
