How to Submit an Ad

  • SFS members, academic institutions, and non-profit organizations can freely post advertisements for position openings, meetings, publications, workshop and courses, or general interest messages.
  • For-profit companies are allowed to post freely, but a $35 donation to one of the SFS endowments funds is suggested.
  • Advertisements and messages should be emailed to the SFS Classifieds editor (classifieds@freshwater-science.org). If judged acceptable, they will be posted promptly (generally within 48 hours).

Field Biology Program for undergraduates at the University of Notre Dame Environmental Research Center (UNDERC)

Applications now being accepted for UNDERC Summer 2020 programs. These programs promote understanding of field biology and how field research is conducted through 10 weeks in the wilds. It begins with a summer at UNDERC-East in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and then the opportunity for a second summer at -West in Montana. UNDERC-East is open to 28 sophomores/juniors from any college/university. Once students complete the UNDERC-East program, they are eligible for a second summer at UNDERC-West (class size: 8). Each summer, participants receive three-credits and a stipend.

Bob Hall’s river ecosystem ecology laboratory, at the University of Montana and the Flathead Lake Biological Station seeks to fill a postdoctoral research associate position working on river carbon cycling and ecosystem metabolism. This postdoctoral position will perform independent research on stream ecosystem modeling coupled with the fieldwork. The overall goal is to assess controls on within and among day variation of stream carbon cycling.
