SFS Pacific Northwest Chapter Annual Meeting

Meeting

You are invited to submit an abstract for an individual presentation or roundtable discussion during our 2023 meeting. This meeting will once again be an in-person and hybrid format. Presentations should inform our understanding and management of freshwater aquatic ecosystems including rivers, streams, lakes, and wetlands in the Pacific Northwest. Topics may include but are not limited to bioassessment (macroinvertebrates, algae, diatoms, etc), urban waters, freshwater mussels, tribal freshwater science, fisheries, and climate change. Depending on the number of submissions, we may organize some sessions as roundtable discussions.

Oral presentations should be 15 minutes long with 5 minutes remaining for audience questions. We will host in-person and virtual presenters. Let us know if you require a longer presentation time (e.g., 30 minutes).

We are pleased to announce our application for student award and early career award scholarships are open. Scholarship forms are due by October 20th! Your silent auction donations, sponsors and registration fees make scholarships available. Please consider donating to this year's silent auction (contact jschnoyle@gmail.com directly for donations). For advertising or sponsorship opportunities at this year's conference please contact Zee Searles Mazzacano or Jessie Doyle for more information.

Please send abstracts (<500 words) to Jessie Doyle at sfspnwmedia@gmail.com no later than October 20th, 2023 labeled as “[Last name]_[Title of presentation]”. Abstracts should be under 500 words and submitted as an attachment in Word, not in the body of an e-mail. Please include all authors and their affiliations, with the name of the presenting/corresponding author in bolded type, and indicate if it will be an oral or poster presentation. We hope to select and notify authors by October 31th, 2021. Please contact Zee Searles Mazzacano (casmenvironmental@gmail.com), Rob Plotnikoff (Robert.Plotnikoff@co.snohomish.wa.us), or Jessie Doyle (Secretary/Treasurer; jschnoyle@gmail.com) if you have any questions or need additional information.
