Aquatic Ecologist (Aquatic Biologist II)

Oregon– Aquatic Ecologist (Aquatic Biologist II) needed to serve as a project manager for a riparian buffer manipulation study that will be implemented on private forest lands in Oregon and Washington.   Duties include working closely with primary investigators and land managers to facilitate site selection and implement study designs, compiling and managing project data in a database, performing laboratory analyses, orchestrating successful data collection efforts as a seasonal crew lead, and training and working with the field crew on aquatic field sampling.  Field sampling will include: electrofishing, fish identification, macroinvertebrate sampling, collection of water and benthic biofilm samples, deployment of sensors, pebble counts, and geomorphology measurements.  Applicants should be comfortable navigating in remote backcountry settings and be able to work as a team member under difficult field conditions.
