TITLE/RANK: Assistant Professor
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: AQUATIC ECOLOGIST. The Department of Biological Sciences, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level. We seek applicants with training in aquatic ecology or related disciplines focusing on freshwater ecosystems. The successful candidate will share responsibility for teaching a general ecology course and an introductory course for biology majors, teach an upper division aquatic ecology course and other courses in area of expertise, and may also participate in non-majors courses in biology. Candidates should exhibit potential for independent and innovative research involving Master’s and undergraduate students.
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT: Continuing academic year (nine month) appointment; tenure eligible.

SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with credentials, qualifications, and experience. Excellent benefits package included.
QUALIFICATIONS: a Ph.D. in biological sciences with specialization in aquatic ecology or a related discipline. Post-doctoral teaching and/or research experience strongly preferred.
