ASSISTANT PROFESSOR: ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY & ECOLOGY

The Odum School of Ecology of the University of Georgia (UGA) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the area of environmental policy and ecology. This position will also hold the title of Director of Policy of the UGA River Basin Center (RBC). We welcome candidates who work in any policy area with a connection to water, such as water governance, environmental justice, land use, water quality, climate change, imperiled species, nature-based infrastructure, or coastal issues. The Odum School of Ecology (http://www.ecology.uga.edu) is world-renowned for its contributions to ecosystem ecology, disease ecology, and aquatic ecology, among other areas. It maintains vibrant graduate and undergraduate training programs, awarding undergraduate degrees (BS and AB), masters’ degrees (MS in Ecology and MS in Integrative Conservation and Sustainability), and two PhD degrees (PhD in Ecology and PhD in Integrative Conservation). The River Basin Center (RBC; http://rivercenter.uga.edu), hosted by the Odum School, serves to connect interdisciplinary water-related research at UGA with management and policy. As co-director, this position will provide leadership to the policy work at the center, enhance connections with other campus units, and attract external grants and contracts.  All applicants who apply by April 1, 2021 will receive full consideration, though the position will remain open until filled.
