Assistant Professor of Freshwater Fisheries Biology — Missouri State University
The Biology Department at Missouri State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor with expertise in freshwater fisheries biology. The successful candidate will help address the Department’s need to teach and mentor a growing population of students interested in applied fisheries conservation and management.
Minimum requirements include:
- PhD in a related area
- Peer-reviewed publications in fisheries biology and/or fish ecology
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong support of MSU’s commitment to building a diverse and culturally competent educational environment.
Duties include:
- Research in freshwater fisheries
- Teaching courses in ichthyology, fisheries, and one or more of fish ecology, wildlife management, or other area of expertise to total 9 contact hours per semester
- Advising graduate (Masters) and undergraduate students
- Pursuit of external funding in support of research.
