The Central Valley Regional Water Board is looking for an Environmental Scientist to work on an interdisciplinary team focused on eutrophication issues in lakes, reservoirs, streams and the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. Duties include:

  • Incumbent will conduct scientific analyses and assessments to identify and characterize sources of eutrophication, impacts to water quality, and changes in biological communities.
  • Incumbent will recommend potential management and regulatory actions needed to address impairments and impacts from eutrophication.
  • Incumbent will participate in the development of a new policy focused on eutrophication (State Water Board Biostimulatory Substances Amendment to the Water Quality Control Plan for Inland Surface Water, Enclosed Bays and Estuaries of California).
  • Incumbent will represent the Central Valley Water Board on technical advisory committees, project oversight committees, meetings with federal and state agencies, local governments, dischargers, consultants, Tribes, and the public on water quality impairments and impacts related to eutrophication.
