Do work that matters for Oregon’s fish, wildlife and habitat! Take the lead in the implementation of hydropower mitigation efforts in the southern half of western Oregon, as well as leading the review of new proposed water uses in western Oregon.

What you will do:

Water right reviews: Act as the primary contact for all water right permits associated with new proposed water uses, in the western part of the state. Consult with district staff and the Water Policy Coordinator to evaluate the impact of water rights on 1) water quantity needs as they relate to the protection of fish, wildlife and their habitats; 2) water quality needs of fish and wildlife; and 3) and mitigation needs for impacts to fish, wildlife and their habitat. Work in close coordination with the Water Program policy coordinator and district staff to provide consistent, effective, implementable, and legal protection for fish and wildlife for water use activities.

Qualifications: Requires three years’ biological/ecological/hydrological experience performing studies, research, or resource management activities in a fisheries, hydrology, water management, stream ecology or related program. At least one year researching and analyzing data, conducting investigations, applying pertinent laws and regulations, or coordinating and monitoring project activities and a Bachelor's degree in Fisheries, Hydrology, Water Management, Stream Ecology or a closely-related degree or three additional years of experience. A Master’s or Doctorate degree may substitute for some experience.

Salary: $4,221-$6,162/mo. Generous benefits package.
