Description: Engaging students in active investigation has long been shown to be a successful undergraduate laboratory instruction technique. CUREs offer an investigative and inquiry-based teaching technique to entire classes of students with diverse learning styles and backgrounds and have a significant positive impact on emotion, sense of project ownership, and scientific identity. The student will be involved in assessing short- and long-term impacts of CUREs on student metrics. It is likely that the student will, at minimum, implement and teach a CURE, or design and implement a novel CURE. The student will work closely with the director of ESU’s Prophet Aquatic Research and Outreach Center (PAROC) to design and help with educational and outreach activities.
Qualifications: BS in biology, or related field, or BSE in education with strong background in STEM. Teaching experience preferred.
