M.S. position in aquatic microbial ecology.

Dr. Allison Veach at the University of Texas at San Antonio is recruiting a funded M.S. position in aquatic microbial ecology. The lab focuses on understanding drivers of microbial structure and function in natural environments in response to anthropogenic change. We collect observational and experimental field and laboratory data in conjunction with performing bioinformatic analyses to answer our research questions. This M.S. position will specifically be focused on microbial responses to flow return in intermittent, urban river ecosystems. Preferred qualifications include a B.S. degree in ecology, biology, or environmental science. Completion of relevant coursework in ecology, limnology or stream ecology, and statistics is desired. Strong communication and written skills are required.

Funding will be provided through a research assistantship ($14,000 per year for a 2-year period) with tuition reimbursement provided (~$16,000 per year) and health insurance.
