The Valett Aquatic Ecosystem Laboratory at the University of Montana, Missoula, is accepting application from students interested in pursuing a PhD in Ecosystem Ecology through the Division of Biological Sciences. A recently funded 5-yr NSF EPSCoR grant will support collaborative sciences addressing water quality issues through the Montana Consortium for Research on Environmental Water Systems (MT CREWS; http://www.mtnsfepscor.org/projects/rii-track-1-consortium-research-envi...). Support of 3-5 years is available for a dedicated student interested in addressing river energetics and the interaction among metals contaminants and nutrient enrichment. Student research will be part the state-wide CREWS program with opportunity to bridge molecular, engineering, and ecological sciences. Support is available as soon as May 2018 and applications will be accepted until January 31, 2019.
