The Southwest Climate Adaptation Science Center, in partnership with Utah State University, seeks a postdoctoral scholar – with a passion for developing science that meets real-world needs – to lead regionally-focused research related to understanding barriers to implementing instream flows to protect aquatic life in the desert southwest. The scholar will have an opportunity to work with an interdisciplinary group of faculty across natural, physical, and social sciences. Recent legislation in Utah allowing instream flows to protect natural resources will afford the postdoc the opportunity to engage with statewide managers to implement aquatic flow protections.
The postdoctoral scholar will join a national cohort as part of the National Climate Adaptation Science Center’s Climate Adaptation Postdoctoral (CAP) Fellows Program. The CAP scholar will collaborate with other CAP scholars from across the country on national-scale research and synthesis on climate-aquatic flow issues and management applications. The CAP scholar will participate in regular training and professional development opportunities related to developing actionable science with decision makers.
