A postdoctoral teaching and research associate position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Hal Halvorson (www.halvorhalvorson.com) at the University of Central Arkansas (UCA). This position is part of a multi-institution, 4-year funded NSF EPSCoR project titled “From Genes to Ecosystems: Harnessing Elemental Data to Detect Stoichiometric Control-Points and their Consequences for Organismal Evolution”. The position is 50% teaching and 50% research. Teaching responsibilities include developing and implementing teaching materials in environmental data science (potential courses include Ecology, Environmental Practicum, and Freshwater Ecology); research responsibilities will focus on projects in line with the grant aims and objectives. Competitive applicants will have background or strong interest in gaining expertise in: ecological stoichiometry and the interface of geology, chemistry, and biology; data aggregation and management skills such as for meta-analysis or database applications; and development of teaching curricula.

The salary is competitive and includes a comprehensive benefits package. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2021 but is negotiable. The position is for two years with the possibility for extending the appointment, contingent upon performance.
