Department of Environmental Science and Ecology, 2018-2019 Search

The Department of Environmental Science and Ecology at The College at Brockport – State University of New York seeks an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) with specialization in fisheries science. PhD in fisheries science or related discipline required from an accredited US Department of Education or internationally recognized college or university; ABD candidates must earn their doctoral degree within 6 months of hire. Anticipated starting date is August 2019. Candidates with research interests in fisheries management, food web interactions, fish movements, or fish population and community dynamics are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to candidates who employ field approaches. This position is a 10-month appointment with responsibilities in teaching (9 to 10 contact hours per semester), scholarship, and service. Courses include fisheries science (ecology, management), Great Lakes issues, an upper division/graduate course in the field of expertise and classes in the departmental core as needed. An active research program in fisheries ecology, which includes MS/BS student participation, external funding and peer-reviewed publications, is expected.
