EcoAnalysts, Inc. currently needs a senior level aquatic biologist (full time, permanent position) to provide technical direction, support, and supervision of biologists in the Missouri office. Our goal at EcoAnalysts is to help our clients make highly informed decisions. The position requires stewardship, teamwork, commitment, productivity, and a desire to be continually learning. This unique position will allow the selected candidate to function and grow as a biologist, while mentoring other biologists. The selected candidate will be responsible for planning, scheduling, project budgets, business development, and marketing. They will also assist with mussel, fish, and invertebrate field sampling throughout the Midwest, data analysis, coordination with clients and regulatory agencies, proposal preparation, project management, supervision of field crews, and report preparation.
Requirements include:
- Project management experience
- Master's degree in biology, aquatic ecology, fisheries, or related field with at least five years of field experience (or Bachelor's degree with at least 10 years of field experience)
- Good communication skills, planning, supervisory skills, and organizational skills
- Ability to work on multiple tasks
- Knowledge of regulatory processes pertaining to fish and/or mussels, with an emphasis on endangered species
- Consulting experience
- Knowledge of Ohio and Mississippi River basin unionid and/or fish fauna, particularly threatened and endangered species
- Computer experience with GIS, databases, word processing, graphics, statistics
- Ability to prepare professional quality reports
- Willingness to travel
Useful skills:
- Diving certification
- Boat operation and maintenance skills
