Assistant Professor of Freshwater Fisheries Biology - Missouri State University

The Biology Department seeks a candidate with expertise in freshwater fisheries biology. Minimum requirements include a PhD in a related area at the time of appointment, peer-reviewed publications in fisheries biology and/or fish ecology, excellent communication skills, and strong support of MSU’s mission.

Duties include: (1) research in freshwater fisheries; (2) teaching courses in ichthyology, fisheries, and one or more of fish ecology, wildlife management, or other area of expertise (total of 9 contact hours per semester); (3) advising graduate (master’s) and undergraduate students; and (4) pursuit of external funding in support of research.

The successful candidate will help address the Department’s need to teach and mentor a growing population of students interested in applied fisheries conservation and management.
