Postdoctoral Research Associate - Biogeochemist - Oak Ridge National Lab

We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher skilled in biogeochemistry who will focus on a project investigating the effects of natural and engineered materials on the stabilization of mercury (Hg) in contaminated environmental media (air, soils, sediments, water). This position resides in the Biodiversity and Ecosystem Health in the Biodiversity and Sustainable Systems Section, Environmental Sciences Division, Biological & Environmental Systems Science at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL).  

Major Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Design experiments and perform laboratory investigations with elemental Hg.
  • Acquire and analyze data using a range of analytical instrumentation.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records.
  • Prepare oral and written reports.
  • Publish and present research results in peer-reviewed journals and at conferences.
