Student Endowment Award Application

Instructions

This application form is used for the following Endowment Awards:

  • Americas Fund
  • Andy Sheldon Fund
  • Boesel-Sanderson Fund
  • Fellows Fund
  • General Endowment Fund
  • Mulholland Fund for Biogeochemical Research
  • Petersen Fund
  • Simpson Fund
  • Systematics Fund
  • Undergraduate Travel Awards

*The Conservation Fund is awarded separately. Click here for information on applying for the Conservation Fund.

*NOTE: Any researcher as well as students may apply for the Systematics award.

The application for SFS Endowment Awards for Students application consists of two parts.

  • Part 1 consists of basic applicant information. (Non-students applying for the Systematics award do not need to complete the degree program information).
  • Part 2 requires a one-page description of your research or proposed research uploaded as a PDF, DOC, or DOCX. Please see the instructions below for the one-page description and follow the formatting guidelines.

You will receive an email confirmation of your submission. If you do not receive an email, check your spam folder.

Application Part 1

Please fill out your information for Part 1 of the application.

*Students applying for various named funds (Simpson, Boesel/Sanderson, Systematics and travel awards) will also be considered for the General Endowment awards.

Any researcher, including non-students, can apply for the Systematics award.

Application Part 2

In a PDF or MS Word document, please include the information below (in the order listed) using a maximum of 1 page (excluding references) and minimum of 11 point font (Times New Roman preferred) and 1" margins.

  • Background/Rationale:
  • Objective/Hypotheses:
  • Research Methods:
  • Research Results (preliminary or expected):
  • Broader Significance (to contemporary issues in benthic science):
