SFS Membership Survey for the 2019 Strategic Plan

Thursday, September 6, 2018

SFS is asking members to take a voluntary survey to help guide strategic planning. Take the survey and read the email from the LRPC below:

The SFS Long Range Planning Committee (LRPC), in collaboration with members of the Board of Directors, is in the process of preparing the next version (2019) of the five-year Strategic Plan for the Society. Toward that end, this survey is designed to help the LRPC understand the priorities of the Society of Freshwater Science (SFS) membership.

This Strategic Plan will assist the Society by establishing goals and objectives that guide how SFS leadership promotes the Society’s mission. Earlier strategic plans in 2009 and 2014 have led to many of the programs and activities that have advanced SFS in the past decade, including renaming the society and journal, the growth of the INSTARs program, increasing efforts to internationalize and diversify our society and membership, and the recent hiring of an Executive Director. Here is a copy of our 2014 Strategic Plan (requires member login).

If you have any questions, then please feel free to contact Amy Marcarelli (ammarcar@mtu.edu) or Steve Thomas (sthomas5@unl.edu), co-chairs of the LRPC.

Thank you,
Amy Marcarelli (Co-Chair), Steve Thomas (Co-Chair), Fred Benfield, Ayesha Burdett (Public Information and Publicity), Andrea Encalada, Tim Hoellein, Erin Hotchkiss, Petra Kranzfelder, Andy Leidolf (Executive Director), Meryl Mims, Pam Silver
