Central U.S. Chapter

Chapter Chair

Jessica Corman (jcorman3@unl.edu

Secretary: Weston Nowlin (wnowlin@txstate.edu)

Membership Goal

This chapter is a transition from the Oklahoma-Texas Aquatic Research Group (OTARG) and is open to aquatic scientists within the Central US region.

Mission Statement

Beginning in 2002, OTARG meetings have been held triennially at University of Oklahoma Biological Station as a venue for introducing regional graduate students to professionals and academicians in all scientific disciplines relating to water. Meetings include scientific presentations and graduate student workshops. The primary goals of the transition to the Central US chapter of SFS is to continue to provide a forum for students, professionals, and academicians in the aquatic sciences to communicate about research and practices in the aquatic sciences at relatively small, informal regional meetings, to encourage the interaction and foster collaboration between chapter members, and to support student and professional development in the aquatic sciences.
